we used to fish off the jetties at Destin.Half a bonito for bait, 10 '' hook, chain, 1/2 in rope tied to a huge rock.We killed several Bull Sharks from 9-12 feet in the seventies.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Probably not that big but big enough they could swallow me like an aspirin tablet For sure. We may or may not dive with power heads though. I’ll swim with them if I’m down there already. But like last year me and brother rolled off the boat in about 100 ft. We got down to about 40 ft. Three sharks ( probably sandbar and or bulls) came right to us. I said Ain’t no way I’m going down with three. Looked and brother told him and he kept on. He came up and said two more were on bottom. Big ones. And he didn’t shoot no fish cause they were Acting mad.

A powerhead with a .44mag will change an aggressive sharks attitude VERY fast! (So I’ve been told… ;<) I saw a video of a diver killing a 14ft Tiger Shark with a 12ga powerhead on a spear gun. Huge ball of bubbles and dead shark slowly fell out of the bubbles. Damn impressive. We killed ours at Destin with a 12ga shotgun stuck in the gills. Bang...dead. One Bull shark chomped down on the shotgun all the way to the forearm...Bang...dead shark and shredded bbl.

Bout daybreak some snorkelers came swimming down the jetties. First guy comes around the rocks face first at five feet to a open mouth Bull shark. He screamed thru the snorkel and went up the jetty rocks like Batman. Funny as all hell..to us, not him.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Power heads are great but there is still a pretty high pucker factor hanging at a decompression stop with 10 feet of vis and 30 lbs of bloody fish strapped to your chest.
