Just bought my first 7mm08. In you guys’ experience, what’s the best hunting round? The ammo is pretty scarce so I just gathered what I could. Haven’t shot it yet. I got a box of Barnes 120 grain with the gun. I found a box of hornady whitetail interlock 139 grain and a box of Winchester power point 140 grain. I realize the Barnes are probably the best bullet, but is the 120 grain enough? Seems a little light. Any help would be appreciated.

140 grain Partition and Accubond
120 grain NBT is amazing, as well.

At 7'08 speeds, most all hunting bullets should perform well. Shoot what your gun likes.

We’ve shot American whitetail 139 interlocks with good success.

My browning loves the federal premium 140 nosler. She will put them holes inside of holes. Always had good luck with deer with it and it’s been effective.

Either the Federal premium 140gr. Nosler ballistic tips or the Nosler 140gr. Nosler ballistic tips. Every youth model I have shoots them better than anything else I have tried and they are deadly on deer.

Have killed some great bucks; including my PB, with Barnes VorTX 120TTSX. NOT to light. If your gun likes it; go hunting

We’ve shot American whitetail 139 interlocks with good success. I’ve been very impressed with them. Crap they normally knock a wad of hair off the exit side when Stephen hits them right.

Killed them with 120 reduced recoil and 140 core lokt(have seen very few available over the last two years). Last three shot with 140 nosler Accubond. These have been deadly and accurate (very hard to find). Found plenty of 150 Norma and ELDX, but have not shot. Everyone says to go 20gr below your normal weight with the Barnes, so that 120 should be perfect.

Mine likes 140 Winchester supreme and a nice load of h414 under a 120 NBT. It's submoa out of my Ruger carbine, and it's death to a deer.
