I would guess 5 but that's just it, my guess. I would think after 3 (This season) we would see something of an indication.

Maybe so. I'd think five, maybe. Dunno.
We've had more than a decade of the 3-buck limit and "one has to have 4 points on a side" regulation.
Shouldn't we be seeing more OMG Wall-Hanging RackMasterMonster mature bucks in the population by now? How's that big change that "everyone" wanted working out for us? Even without 10 years of GC data to look at, we as hunters overall should see or have seen by now a significant uptick in "quality" bucks. Right?
Perhaps five years of mandatory GC will shed light on that, too.

How many years of GC data before it is used for management decisions? Soon as they figure out how to inflate the numbers to match the inflated numbers from the elusive survey that was wrong for decades. What makes you think the survey was wrong? I can guarantee you the survey numbers are way more accurate that current GC. Compliance is terrible IMO. I still think most hunters aren’t recording their kills. That’s very unfortunate. The decision makers will make much better decisions with compliance. If ppl continue to shake their fist and not do it they shouldn’t be surprised when decisions are made that are based from those numbers. More compliance=more data=better management decisions=satisfied hunters

But at some point shouldn't GC, the numbers that's there, be used or GC be done away with it not used?

You’re the last person that needs to be looking for a good place to hunt. More of need to be hunting with you!

I don’t know if GC compliance is good or not, all I have is anecdotal evidence. In our club, compliance is very high I don’t know how different we are from others, but I would like to think we are typical.
If compliance increases or decreases, that will be an unknown and would skew the numbers. If compliance increases over time, it would look like harvest numbers are increasing when they are not.
GC is quick and easy and I don’t have any issues with it. To have a much more accurate measure of compliance will be costly and more painful for everyone involved.

What is game check for again?? Everybody is guessing what the compliance rate is, everybody is guessing what the deer population is, nobody knows what the predation number is, nobody knows what the car kill number is, nobody knows what the poaching number is! And this is supposed to be some great management tool to manage what again? Oh yeah, nobody knows that either!!! Most likely it will be used for job justification and increasing the burden of government on the hunting public, but don't let that bother anybody!!

Everyone I hunt with is compliant, I have heard of a few guys that are not but I have no proof. My guess is that these numbers are a little closer to the actual harvest than what most folks are thinking it is

My guess is that these numbers are a little closer to the actual harvest than what most folks are thinking it is Closer to the real number? Maybe...Maybe not. If they are closer then some estimations have been way off. Now at what point do we trust the numbers? This year if the number jumps to 100,000 does it mean more deer killed and a great season or does it mean better compliance? I would like to see how many tickets are written this year for NOT REPORTING? I don't mean not having Harvest Record while hunting but actually killing a deer and not reporting it.

At our club it is mandatory to document on harvest sheet the confirmation number that the deer has been reported to game check.

I hunted in Dallas County all week last week and heard multiple high powered rifle shots. Lots of outlaws there. Wast's last week Muzzleloader week as well? Yes but I don't think even the boys in the 11th Alabama infantry could fire three shots in 20 seconds.
