that mold smell is a common problem in expeditions. in the fords case it comes from the evaporator core in back.

I don't know about it smelling like "skunk weed", but my in-laws had something that smelled like fish coming out of their AC vents. We did some research and found that the coil can get contaminated with something that causes that type of a smell. It literally smelled like there was a fish in the return vent...

This reminds me time I killed bobcat and threw it in back my dads 4runner. Still smelled like cat piss 2 years later when he sold it.
