It is a hot bat, but I refused to pay $300 for a bat for a 9 year old. I went with the Easton S500 at $70, and used some of the savings on a couple of batting lessons.
At the end of every practice the team has a home run derby with each player getting 10 hits. When my son hits with one of his buddies Mako, he probably gets a few extra feet out of it.
I'm extremely satisfied with the $70 bat and $90 worth of hitting lessons. Call me ornery, but I chose to explain to my son that kind of money was out of line for a bat. He agreed.
