Looking for a bow hunting club in another post but no hits. Thought id try another approch. Lol.
Has anyone got info on land to possible book 3-5 day bow hunt without breaking the bank possible on club or private land that needs a few does taken out. Not really looking for trouphy bucks to take from the club, just a place to get away a week or two during the hunting season. Suggestions on any good WMA's in central/south Alabama that would be good to bow hunt would be appericated. Thanks

Words to the wise, Be careful on WMA's there's probably 20 piles of feed around every stand so check the area. There's A LOT of no good going on out there and with all the illegal bait being hunted you could be setup for a big surprise when a Game Warden pops up to check licenses and finds bait you didn't even know about. It is ridiculous so just be careful.

Funny. I heard the same thing about land in Lamison, Alabama! People say it everywhere in Lamison!  Just piles of corn everywhere. Cant go anywhere without stepping in it!

I've scouted and hunted all over Skyline and ain't seen any ... Guys are hiding it from me well!

I cover a lot of ground on oakmulgee with my squirrel dog and have never seen any or cleaned a deer killed out there with any in it.

The baiting fine would be a lot cheaper than some turkey leases.

I was speaking strictly from my family's experiences in an area down south, obviously not mentioned by me so my bad. I'm sure my over exaggerated explination of our experiences isn't occurring everywhere but it does occur in some places nonetheless. But like I'm trying to say just don't want someone ruining someone else's hunting experience. So just watch out for it that's all.

I hunt whats legal with a bow. To me if i get the opertunity to sling an arrow at a legal deer its a trophy. Dont take that the wrong way, if a doe comes in with fawns i enjoy the moment and let them walk and see what i can learn from their body language. If im hunting with good buck potiential i hunt for that buck. I have been bow hunting since i was 19, im now 49 and i still get tore up bow hunting (buck or doe) Lol.

As for the corn piles, i have never found corn on WMA's in North Alabama (colbert or lauderdale counties). I do scout a lot before i hang my stand. If they area is not to my preferance i just move on.
