Outdoors expo this weekend at the BJCC in da' Ham, owned/hosted by Rick and Bubba and Moultrie (and maybe others) with all kinds of exhibits, ranches, wild hunts, fenced hunts, food, equipment, fishing, clothes, thingies and such. They've been planning it for quite a while.

Just curious... are the vendors that are exhibiting at the R&B Expo exhibiting at the other expo?

In talking with vendors last year (from the main expo; the usual Deer Expo), it just seemed like a lot of vendors were not happy about the way they were treated and the enormous price they had to pay to exhibit there.

Will the R&B Expo be as big as the other one coming up? I'll only go to one probably.

I may be wrong here but I just see Keith Warren as a guy that's feeding a baby buck with a bottle one day and shooting him four or five years later (as the buck has been protected for four or five plus years and can barely hold his head off the ground from the weight of the antlers) and being proud of it like he's accomplished something other than pulling the trigger.

A buddy I saw at Crazy Cajun's (restaurant) in B'ham was bragging on the nice buck he killed last year as he handed me his phone displaying the picture. "Oh WOW! Where'd you kill that monster?, I asked, suspecting what ultimately was the case. His reply, "What's that place down the Interstate south of B'ham?" I said, "Is that that White Oak place... that high fence place?" "Yes.", with a sheepish voice he said knowing what my point was as I handed him back his phone and asked about his kids and didn't elaborate or mention the buck again.

That kind of hunting is just not for me. Not to say a high fence is always "canned" but when you're talking about a $10K-$20 or more buck when "the guide" is sitting there with the hunter knowing "exactly" which bucks are coming to that feeder and "EXACTLY" what each buck's score is, that's just not hunting to me. Again, some high fence hunting is fair chase.

A man's high fence and his way of making a living is NOT worth the health risk of the entire state's deer herd. If the biologists, who have no dog in the fight, are against deer crossing state lines, then I support what they say. Not Keith "Watch me shoot this (high fence) 200" buck" Warren.

Don't want to nosedive the thread. Just my 2 cents.

Oh, want to know what ignorance is? I'm not a member of SCI but went to their Feb meeting at the Immacrook Scrushy Center in B'ham wearing my QDMA button-up shirt. Man, did I hear an earful of why does the QDMA not support transporting deer across state lines!! There's a lot of $ supporting SCI and high fence hunting.

I agree 100%, if I can't kill a decent deer that hasn't been hand feed then so be it. I aint about to pay 10k+ to shoot a deer, I don't care how big it is. For those that do, more power to ya but you haven't accomplished a thing in my book. Just my 2 cents....
