I won't be at the bash but I may host a National Championship Bash in Tuscaloosa when Bama plays for #16 Now that's funny! But really, not laughing "at" you. I'll give you credit.... that was a good comeback.

Sigh!!!! This thread is kinda funny. What's really funny is that our grandkids will be doing the same thing. My grandkids will be pulling for Auburn and you Bama fans' grandkids will be pulling for University of South Alabama as they'll be one of two powerhouses in the State of Alabama and the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa will be in the same conference as Jeff State and Bevil State.

In reguards to claiming NCs Bama and Barn both claim too many IMO. Go to the NCAA web site and see how many they reconize...Neither should claim more than are reconized by the NCAA. If The Opelika Times or Po Dunk Post says they won the NC who gives a chit.
According to the NCAA Bama has won 13.
25,26,30,61,64,65,73,78,79,92,09,11,12.
The Barn has 2.
57 and 10.
To claim more by either school is stupid!!!

I won't even go there but you're condemning Auburn in your post? Where's your head been? Alabama did not, NOR THE NCAA, in 1983, recognize NC of 25, 26 & 30. The NCAA didn't come to Alabama and say, "Hey, y'all need to recognize X years as NC!!" Alabama, first took the initiative to claim those years and they provided evidence of organizations/entities/etc... that endorsed Alabama as NC that year. Was it wrong in your eyes when Alabama took that initiative? Well, of course not... not in your eyes. Is it wrong for Auburn to take the "same" initiative just like Alabama did several years ago to claim additional titles? Well, certainly it is. The hypocrisy! There are several years that the "today's" NCAA recognizes more than one NC in a given year AND, here's the big news for you... just like Alabama, more schools are coming forth WITH THE SAME CRITERIA that Alabama used in claiming that they were NC in X years. Alabama petitioned the NCAA and demonstrated that "these" or "this" entities or entity endorsed us as NC in "these" years. But really, there is no official standard because there was no "official" national champion before the BCS. So with the same criteria as what Alabama used, Auburn is doing the same and the website guru guy for the NCAA's website will add Auburn to whatever years. Teams all over the country are adding titles... just like Alabama did. Check back with the NCAA's website in three/five years and see who has been added as "NC" for whatever year. What's fair for one is fair for all. IMO. Maybe not yours. Buck Trot.. If they are added to the NCAA web site like you say, why did they not add 34 & 41?? Do you like to type just to see yourself type??

Hey Ben2, where has Phil showed facts? his first response here was very factual I have not looked through the rest of them yet but he did say: 1) Bama has 3 National Championships in the last 5 years 2) Bama has played in the National Championship game 3 times in the last 5 years and won all 3 times, including a shutout against LSU and a complete domination of Notre Dame. Bama beat Auburn all 3 of those years including a 49-0 win and a 36-0 win 3) We've won more National Championships in the last 5 years than Auburn has in its entire school history. You can't dispute those 3 even if you threw out the other 12 that we claim 4) Auburn beat Bama 6 years in a row when Bama was at its lowest point in school history and on probation. Auburn still has ZERO National Championships to show for during that 6 year period Think those are all facts

I am A Troy State Graduate, but I am and have always been a BAMA
fan. I used to be just as bad as some of the users I have read in this thread. I did not go to UA or AU, but I still pull for one of them. And I am sure most of the people on here did not go to either one. A friend of mine told me something one time that made a lot of sense. People will almost fight about the Iron Bowl teams, but the ones that are fighting would not want 99% of the players in the game living next door to them. Think about it.
