In reguards to claiming NCs Bama and Barn both claim too many IMO. Go to the NCAA web site and see how many they reconize...Neither should claim more than are reconized by the NCAA. If The Opelika Times or Po Dunk Post says they won the NC who gives a chit.

OMG and the sad part is, is that you believe your ignorant posting. You say that the NCAA "recognizes" National Championships. I won't even go there but you're condemning Auburn in your post? Where's your head been? Alabama did not, NOR THE NCAA, in 1983, recognize NC of 25, 26 & 30. The NCAA didn't come to Alabama and say, "Hey, y'all need to recognize X years as NC!!"
Alabama, first took the initiative to claim those years and they provided evidence of organizations/entities/etc... that endorsed Alabama as NC that year. Was it wrong in your eyes when Alabama took that initiative? Well, of course not... not in your eyes.
Is it wrong for Auburn to take the "same" initiative just like Alabama did several years ago to claim additional titles? Well, certainly it is. The hypocrisy!
There are several years that the "today's" NCAA recognizes more than one NC in a given year AND, here's the big news for you... just like Alabama, more schools are coming forth WITH THE SAME CRITERIA that Alabama used in claiming that they were NC in X years. Alabama petitioned the NCAA and demonstrated that "these" or "this" entities or entity endorsed us as NC in "these" years. But really, there is no official standard because there was no "official" national champion before the BCS. So with the same criteria as what Alabama used, Auburn is doing the same and the website guru guy for the NCAA's website will add Auburn to whatever years. Teams all over the country are adding titles... just like Alabama did. Check back with the NCAA's website in three/five years and see who has been added as "NC" for whatever year. What's fair for one is fair for all. IMO. Maybe not yours.
