Yes, it was. We just didn't have 24/7 news cycles and the Interwebs that would more easily disseminate the information to the masses. It was happening then just like shootings and child molestors and kidnappings and such that we hear about 24/7 now, too.


Actually according to the CDC and from the link on the "I hate pit bulls" website one of you big bad dog killers posted up some months ago, that is not the case. 20 years ago it was the Rottweiler and the German Shepperd that was killing everyone.
