I would brace the crap out of those legs if you try to stand it up assembled. Don't ask me how I know.

I drew this up to show you how I have done it in the past, I will be putting up a 30' tower like this, this year. How far do you put the 10' pole in the ground and how far do you put your stake in the ground? This is interesting. I may try it. Thanks.

The 10' pole gets ratchet strapped to the center of your bottom band of the stand on opposite sides. The stake goes in the ground at a angle about two feet and about 8-10' from the holes you dug for the legs that are closest to the stake, if that makes any sense to you. One eye bolt goes in the center of the stand and the other two in each corner that is laying towards the ground. Those bottom two eye bolts get a rope tied to them and are used guides by the other two people that helping you stand up the stand and to ease the stand does not come down hard. This is how they use to stand up windmill stands back in the day before vehicles and heavy equipment.

This windmill was 40' and I took the top 8' off already which makes it 32' now. I will be enclosing the top section and putting a floor and windows in it and putting it up for a shooting house this fall. I have another 40' windmill tower and still need to take cross braces off of it to put on this one where they are bent at the bottom.

Hey bud, call me and I'll show you the way I put them up. Since I built them I can tell you how I put the legs on them.

We use this type of rig to set them, however we do not concrete them in. Ours are all 4x8 (6 feet inside height) with the floor 10' off the ground. We use 2 T posts on each 4x4 post. Drive them into the ground about half way, much deeper than you do with a fence. We use good solid chain to wrap around the wooden post and the 2 T posts and use a bolt to make it tight. We have never had one blow over.
If we ever want to move the stand we use remove chain and use the lift arms on the tractor to pull T posts out...

Can you get a tractor to your spot? If so, easy peasy. If not, place them by a tree you can come-along up. Best thing to do is buy a bunch of beer, ice it down, and call the buddies. Ice cold beer?? Give me the address and date and I'll be there!
