I'm not saying it's not a fine school Ian, but Gainsville has no charm. I toured the swamp and McConnell center....dumps.
The campus was like a big east school, and the women were ugly too.
I hope you mean the O'dome and yes it is a dump. The swamp has been getting updates every year and I love it. Even my fiance prefers it to BDS. I like BDS a lot too but with the way the seats arch around the field and how flat they are going up you're really far away from the field. At the Swamp it's nearly straight up and it was built in a gully so the noise stays inside the stadium.
What we don't have is an Indoor practice facility, we can afford one but no where to put it near the football complex. I've said it before that they should renovate the O'dome to an IPF and build a new basketball arena on the edge of campus.
now if you want to see a dump go to Doak Campbell Stadium at Ron Zook Field. That is a dump, what makes it worse is that they used tax dollars to add to the stadium and have had a terrible time selling out.
I've never been to Auburn for a football game and I've actually heard a lot of good things from UF fans about going there. I've never been to Athens or Rocky Top but would love to go to Knoxville for a game.
I like MSU when I went a few years ago but it's just an old stadium with nothing other than a huge ass screen. I want to go to death valley and the grove real bad too. the grove will be a while away since the awesome (sarcastic) SEC scheduling.
I go to at least one Bama game every year and one UF game every year. I will go to the LSU game in the swamp, UF at Bama and UF at Vandy next year. I loved the Vandy game and Nashvegas in general. Free parking, nice area, and no real shot of being mugged by terrible fans.
I will say this, I really don't like many UF fans, most of them bitch and moan about EVERYTHING! I cant stand it, I was lucky enough to grow up under SOS but these idiots pushed him out and Meyer out of town with their non stop complaining.
Hell people were bitching about everything during our 11-2 sugar bowl season two years ago.
They wanted Kerwin Bell as the HC something fierce!!! I was shocked
Nothing that Muschamp can do to get him on their side. I've never seen a team with so many injuries in such key areas ever in any level of football like UF had last year. Muschamps first year we had something like 67 scholarship players and added 5 walk ons. we were basically playing like we were on probation.
Muschamp is a good coach, he's was handed a terrible situation after meyer quit on them a second time. He was handed a team with a major void in character and leadership. they were use to being able to do whatever under Meyer and Musschamp wasn't having it. He kicked off Janoris right away but Meyer would've kept him on the team.
Hell he was handed a roster with all those voids, small fast players that would get hurt easy, and John Brantley....
We are finally getting a full roster and the void of leadership is being filled. We seem to finally seem to have a good OC since Mullen. with our Defense, if we had a mid pack offense we would be just damn fine.
oh well end of my rant.
I like poking fun at both schools here, Auburn will always be one of UF's biggest rivals and closest school BTW in the SEC it's a shame that we wont be able to play them every year. Bama wont allow them to move to the east because they'd have to choose to play as a cross division rival every year between UT and AU and as much as many of us non bama fans like to think otherwise, bama runs this conference like Texas runs the Big 12.
