43ft at 70 mph is equivalent to around 96 at the MLB distance of 60'6. Triana has a whole lot of spin and movement on her softball at that speed also, pitches around 120 pitches per game. Say what you want, but that girl has skills. I enjoy college softball and it takes amazing quickeness and skill to cleanly field and throw a runner out on 60' bases. Watch them in person and you will get a whole new perspective on the game. Aside from all of the "things" being said about womens softball, they are some freaking good athletes out there and it is much more fast paced than any other team sport at the collegiate level. I have heard there are 18 roster spots, 8 full athletic scholarships and the rest are on academic scolarships. It takes a lot of willpower to practice, travel and play as much as they do and maintain their scholarships. It is up to the recruiters to get the best players with the best academics out there, baseball is even much tougher in that aspect. So I have great admiration for the kids being able to better themselves academically with athletics as a bonus.
