I recall some of you mentioning some websites that sell bats online. What are those sites?

I have bought from them before and they run a lot of sales and free shipping most of the time. If the bat you want is not on sale this week wait a week or two and it probably will be.

DO NOT buy from baseballbatsale.com. They get you in with deep sale discounts on bats. Site looks legit but its a Chinese scam group. I got caught ordering from them. Got a bat in that weighed about 4ozs and had the word BAT written on it. Big hassle and a lot of threats of flying to China and doling out ass whippings. Citibank credited me the purchase amount back so it didn't cost me anything but time and hassle. Cudos to Citibank.

Baseballexpress.com is a good site.

Used to order from justbats and baseballexpress but that's been a few years ago, always had good service and no compaints.

How old is he? How big is your son?

We have had nothing but bad luck from demarini bats so from now on I will avoid them. Also composite bats despite what most people say you will be lucky to get 2 full seasons out of them without noticing a difference in performance. We have easton team bats that are 3 or more years old and still hit like they did the day we opened them. Louisville slugger or easton bats non composite barrel is my 2 cents worth.

That bright orange bat is the Easton Mako. It is a very HOT bat with lots of pop but my son is on his 3rd one this year. The bats keep cracking in the sweet spot even though we rotate them every hit. Easton has been very good to us with the returns, but for $279 its not worth the trouble!

One of our parents just bought a Mako (youth model) from justbats with the last week or two for $99 with free shipping. The last Demarini bat we bought was $149 and the barrel cracked after 2 practices and 1 game but somehow it was my fault according to them so I understand that hassle completely.

The more expensive Mako is a two piece bat with a composite barrel. The less expensive one is an all composite, one piece bat. Our team has hit both. My son likes his Worth Prodigys best. We buy from closeoutbats.com. CD.

M TEAGUE - my son is almost 10, and he is big for his age. He's been using a 29 inch composite bat that is a drop 12. His coach told me this weekend that the bat is dead (I bought it used 3 seasons ago).

I'm probably going to end up with an Easton S1 or the S500, but I'm going to talk to some of the coaches before making the purchase.

Those S1's are good bats.

I hope they fixed the breakage issue. We broke two right where the barrel meets the handle and my son is not a power hitter. Over the whole team about 4 broke in the same spot. But, the S1 is a good hot bat.

Both of my kids have an Easton Mako, one is a 29/19 Senior League and the other is a 32/29 BBCOR. If I had it to do over I would have got the S1 aluminum bat. We went to the SEC tournament lsst week and I only saw one player using the Mako all the others that used Easton bats were using the aluminum bats so that should tell you something. If you now what model you want EBay can have some real good deals especially on left over models.

Don't rule out Combat! It's all we swing. Haven't had a dud in 2 years.
