some bitters are worth a lot of money

The ehjlmes railroad mills bottles is worth about $15.00. I would hold onto it as bottle prices go up fast. The bottle was made around 1900

the royal Italian bitters bottle was from a company in Montreal Canada. It was made around 1875. most bitter bottles are rare because they were only made for a few years. They were actually 80% alcohol and marketed as bitters to avoid taxes. The government caught on and started taxing them. If the bottle is 13 3/4 inches tall and in good condition it would be worth a minimum of $1500.00. I would not sell it as the prices on bottles continue to rise because none have been made sense 1875.

My dad before he passed away years ago had a bottle that was shaped like a pig and it was inscribed with "Suffolk Bitters" . It was about 8 to 10 inches long I'd guestimate. I cant recall the color of it but Im thinking it was sort of medium dark brown. Sorry but wish I had a pic of it to show you to know what it was.

SUFFOLK BITTERS MADE BY PHILBROOK TUCKER 9 1/2 TALL SHAPE OF PIG LIGHT AMBER CIRCA 1880. That bottle is worth $800 to $1000+. Are you interested In selling. I know a buyer that may be interested.

Would you believe this???....my sister acquired that bottle after both of our parents passed away a few years back. I was always curious about it as a young kid and I had no idea even if was worth anything. After hearing your description of its worth, Im saying WOW!!! I guess about 10 years ago she had the bright notion of putting it up on Ebay and had one bidder on it, I think she got $75.00 out of it!!!!!!!!!!

I have some that me and my son found in a creek that have raised lettering and are some kind of syrup bottles. They are cork bottles and I believe they were some kind of cough syrup. I'll find them tomorrow and get the particulars on them.

I would have to lay eyes on some of them again to describe them. I will find out what he wants to sell and get pics. Or if you will pm your contact info, I'll pass it on to him. I know that some of them are only worth a few bucks and others are worth several hundred dollars.

some old bottles are worth thousands of dollars. over my 40 years of bottle collecting ive known people to find bottles worth upwards of $20,000. Big market for old bottles. I have some dating back to the early 1700's. Old home sites are good areas to find bottles or just walking through the woods where people may have lived many years ago. You don't have to be an expert to find bottles, just know where to look. maybe you could find a $20,000 bottle. (you would have to be real lucky)

We've been cleaning out an old home site that was my stepdads great grandparents,the house was prolly built in the early 1900's and burned down many years ago,we have found a bunch of old bottles there,I'll look at them this afternoon to see what all is there

I used to love to collect old bottles when I was a teenager. I have a box full of them in the crawl space underneath my house. I have forgotten what kind and how many are there.

I have had many of them 35 years or longer. Lots of them were the cork style bottles before the screw on top era.

Maybe I ought to get under there and get them out to see what's there.

What's this worth.....a small clear smooth top (possibly cork) bottle that says "Edison Battery Oil".... Made In USA.... Thomas A Edison Incorporated Bloomfield NJ USA.... opposite side of the bottle and all that raised relief lettering is his cursive signature in raised relief

Post a pic..I'm sure it probably looks like any other bottle but I'd like to see something from 1700s.

I found the two I was talking about this morning. Both are clear and have raised letters on one side. One says FURST-McNESS CO FREEPORT, ILL.

The other one says CALIFORNIA FIG SYRUP CO

california fig syrup is a fairly common bottle. clear and I believe made in Pen. I have one in my collection and it is worth about $10.00 the FURST MCNESE from Ill is a medicine bottle and it is 8 3/8 inches tall and clear is worth about $15.00. both bottles made around 1900. Those bottles are 115 years old. hold on to them, prices will go up

I have what looks like a glass coke bottle. It has 6 flat sides coming down the neck with a raised star on each. Below that it is round with SODA WATER PROPERTY OF COCA COLA BOTTLING CO. CON. 6FL. OZ. below that it has 4 flat sides then it is round at the bottom. Around the bottom it says PAT NOV 27, 1923. On the very bottom in raised letter is ANDALUSIA ALA.
Is there a price guide for bottles and jars? If so do you know where I can get one? I'd like to have one. Thanks for the prices you have given me.

There are many price guide for bottles some can be purchased on line and some library have some. Your bottle is a local soda bottle bottled under coca cola patents. It's hard to say what it is worth as it probably not listed in price books. I would say it isn't worth much so just keep it for your kids and in the future it may be worth something.

A couple I have:

United states medicine bottle is from New York and made around 1880. These were called quack medicines because they really did not do much and were advertised as a cure all. They contained about 80% alcohol and after drinking some you felt better. This bottle is worth about $15.00. The Jack Daniels bottle was made by the Jack Daniels distillery in Kentucky abound 1910 and bottled with limestone cave water. The bottle is worth with the porcelain top around $75.00 but would be worth much more if unopened (seal not broken) and still had the water in it.
