Just a thought.....but what if planted some orchards of some type of fruit tree that had a drop date that very closely coincided with your peak fawn dropping date....Would the overwhelming amount of food being present take some pressure off of the fawn predation? Blumsden, look at our planting experiment as an example of what I'm getting at here. We can't do anything about having birds, but the turkeys and other birds aren't scratching to get to our seed because there is much easier pickins to be had. Would a coyote actively pursue fawns as hard if there was plenty of other easier pickins? Like I said, just thinking out loud mostly....... I hear what your saying, and it might would help, although i would think they would quit eating persimmons to eat fawns, kinda like deer quit eating corn or food plot for acorns.
