I've narrowed my decision down to these two. Both have fuel injection, 4x4, power steering, and locking differential but the Yamaha has independent rear suspension. I'm leaning towards the Yamaha. Just looking for hands on experienced opinions. Will be used mainly for trail riding and hunting. Thx!

One of my former customers is a prostaff mechanic for Kawasaki Racing and he also owned a atv repair shop for several years. He said that if he had to rely on Honda service work to eat that he would starve to death.

I may be in the minority here but I have a Big Bear with the IRS & while its a fine machine I dont like the independent rear. with the locking front diff I havent been able to stick it yet. the choice would come down to feel & price to me. cant go wrong with either one mechanically.

Since you listed mainly trail riding the Yamaha wins hands down.independent rear suspension is head and shoulders above a straight axle for riding. A whole lot more comfortable. Honda needs to get with the program. Honda makes great reliable 4 wheelers but they need to lose that straight axle. My dad has a Grizzly 700 and it's been as reliable as any Honda

I have a Foreman and its been a great bike and its been down some crazy trails. No complaints. It's been very reliable. The only problem I've had is an angle sensor.
I've also had a Polaris with the independent suspension. Wow, it's a beautiful thing. The IRS makes a difference after about a 50 mile ride.

For lots of trail riding go with the IRS no doubt. Yamaha makes some fine bikes too. I love how according to most no one makes an outboard better than Yamaha but then four wheelers come up and its "Oh you gotta get a Honda, Yamahas are a POS."
