Nope. can see that good! Only shoot with scopes! Was shooting custom 223 in 8 -10 mph winds at 880 yards and groups were under 4 inchs. Has been witness by ALDEER member on here less than 2 months ago! Point is with a custom rifle and nightforce, i WILL accept all money beats against YOU!

Ya'll are a bunch of tight azz folks, lighten up. It is called Teasing.
He had 700 yards them bumped it to 7000 yards ... funny! made me lol.
I dont care if he can shoot or not shoot. I dont care what kind of gun he owns.
I jerked his chain (VERY easy to do) and he responded (as he always does) (another lol).

There are always exceptions, and maybe he is one. The truth and fact is, MOST folks cannot afford a custom rig and in MOST cases SUB MOA blah blah blah is not needed by the average/normal/regular hunter.
As I wrote - there is a BIG difference in real world accuracy for hunting situations VS competition/bench shooting, and shooters relates to this by stating he has "competition wins".
No One needs "competition wins" to be a normal/average/regular hunter in Alabama, or most places in America's southeast states. No one needs SUB MOA at 100 yards for normal/average/regular deer hunting in Alabama.

What makes a good bolt gun goes farther then the make or caliber of the gun. Ammo comes into play. Shooter skill and experience comes into play. It is a combination of multiple factors. A consistent gun, consistent ammo, consistent shooter are all absolutely necessary for shooting accurately - THIS is what makes a GOOD bolt gun. THAT is the point.

Your reading and not understanding ELR is what got me fired up! You dont comprehend what you read! A Vectronix Vector 4, is a rangefinder that out to 6km = 7000 yards plus! Its a VERY accurate binocular rangefinder. Euro-optic sells them, look one up. The problem was you open your mouth about something before YOU knew what you where talking about. I can PROVE that i have outshot snipers from FT Benning in competion shoots. That being said is why i find your PISS poor accuracy requirements to be insulting ! I take great pride in not wounding deer. Your recommending 4 moa accuracy is a terrible idea! I only said what i think is a good longrange bolt gun. I also said that a plain m70 with average scope is fine for 300-400 yards. I agree that you can buy a good savage 7mm and a descent scope and do well out to 500 yards. I agreed with BhamFred on that , but you had to throw out the 4 moa horse crap. That force me to take a stand! Bad info , from people like you with there 4 moa crap is why ELR hunting gets a bad rap. I agree that normal deer hunting, doesnt need custom rifle. But find your 4 moa crap isulting to deer! People should not be given crappy info like its ok to have a 4 moa group for deer, period. As far as the rest i dont apoligize. You want to call me out, bring lots of cash. I dont scare easy and i LOVE to gamble!!!!!! grin

I agre with you and BhamFred on the average , normal idea of a good remington , savage, tikka, ruger,winchester and so on , being just find for 300-500 yards shots. But when you start talking about 4 moa groups i feel , that i must reply. I feel strongly about killing a deer humanly. YOU telling people 4 moa accuracy is acceptable is WRONG! We as hunters owe the deer better than that! I love ELR shooting , but hate the idea of someone advising 4 moa accuracy for shooting a deer!

Well here ya go;
Weatherby Vanguard S1; $399. with a Nikon Pro-Staff scope $169. that I had dipped.
[img:left][/img]

This is what it will do at 100 yds with 3 rounds of Fusion 165 grain ammo, which can be covered with a dime; in my mind that's a good rifle.

You bet it is! Takes a pretty good shot behind it to make it do that also. If you learn what it'll do, that'll kill'em waaaaay out there too and for not a lot of $.
