Seriously, I have a $300 Slug Gun that will touch holes @ 100, and shoot inside a paper plate @ 200, but it's because I've got a $400 Nikon BDC on it.
My Tikka T3 is a doggone laser and only cost $550, but again I've got a big expensive scope on it.
Its depends on what you want out off a hunting rifle. I have custom rifles for a reason. I may want to shoot another deer at 702 yards. That means a heavy barrel, jewell trigger, and a nightforce for me! But if im in a treestand it might be a m70 300wsm with a 2.5x10x56 Nikon monarch. The point is , what makes a GOOD bplt action gun to 1 man is not going to be the same to the other man. Does anyone REALLY want to own just one gun??? My hunting rifles are basicly Mission Specific. I carry a factory gun sometimes and sometimes a full custom longrange rifle, i let the situation speak for its self!! grin
