Spend $200 on a gun, and $500 on a scope,instead of the other way around. Don't skimp on mounts either. Your only as accurate as your optics. Savage,Remington,Ruger, Browning are all fine weapons, and are deadly accurate. I would love to have a custom made rifle, but i will never own one, unless someone else pays for it. Its all about preference. We are trying to kill deer, not win target competetions out to 1000 yards.

Seriously, I have a $300 Slug Gun that will touch holes @ 100, and shoot inside a paper plate @ 200, but it's because I've got a $400 Nikon BDC on it.
My Tikka T3 is a doggone laser and only cost $550, but again I've got a big expensive scope on it.
