Its only a felony if they can prove the dog is worth over $500.No law against shooting a 22 on your own property unless its in the city. committing any crime with a firearm makes it a felony. Only if they catch ya.  I'd get rid of the dog.

When there not home a 22 behind the ear. Throw it in the back of truck and chunk it. I agree with Ridgestalker ,least expensive.

Being able to hunt with suppressors can benefit a feller in this situation, especially a top quality .22 unit

That makes me feel better about popping my grannys cats in the head with the 22.Shes got about 12 and i been saying for a long time i was gonna shoot em but couldnt bring myself around to shooting her cats.I went out to the barn last week and seen where they been on my boat and i have been after em ever since.

However I also read that If you are committing or attempting to commit a violent crime and you are in possession of a gun, you may be sentenced to as many as five years in prison. Would that not apply here?

Just out of curiosity why are you leaving a small child alone in the front yard? Well, it is their yard. May not be a busy street? May be a decent neighborhood? Mom may be there w/ the screen door shut? How "small" is the child? Heck, reckon once i got to k'garten age...i headed out the door every morning without mamma holdin my hand? Maybe younger than that? Them years is kinda foggy in my old mind!

Not only does it specify a BB gun it only says you won't be charged with felony animal cruelty if it is not powerful enough to do serious harm. It could still be a crime. Lot of bad advice here. Call it in and at least try to stay legal.

I never said the child was left alone.He has a bicycle, electric gator and 4 wheeler, swingset ect that he rides around on and plays with so you can't always be an arms length away either. He is never goes outside without me or another family member with him.

Lot of bad advice and bad asses too. There are a couple of members on here, that want to pull guns on everybody. They better be ready to use it. They are gonna pull it on it the wrong one sometime, and have it shoved somewhere they don't want it. What happened to the good ole days. Settle it with your fists. I keep a gun close all the time , but I hope I don't have to use it. I figure if i pull it I am using it, as that is my last option.

If its a pitbull by all means kill it quickly!!!! Get a friend to help you out, do it at night as you can be at home and have an alibi. You need a friend with a suppressor, third generation night vision, and a fast vehicle!
