Our hunting club is in pretty dang good shape. The one thing that could really make it better though would be better habitat management. Fire has been absent from the property for at least 5 years now and the productivity of the habitat has slowly degraded. The understory is very lacking as a result in many areas. There are a couple pine stands that are over due for thinning as well which also creates the same desert effect on the understory. Not having an adequate understory component present on your property full of forbes, legumes, native grasses, etc... really cuts down on the amount of food/shelter available to all wildlife on your property, including deer, turkey, quail, rabbits, etc..
