You are not limited to a Sendero in the $1k price range. Savage Long Range Hunter in 7 Mag would fit the bill without additional work for 500-700 yds. as well as others.
Building a rifle in that price range is possible as well. See the thread in this forum about the 6.5-284 Savage build to get some ideas.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Savage long range hunter in 6.5 creedmore is what a friend of mine used last year to kill a 115-120 class deer at 548 yards!

Very similar except the barrel. I've shot both makes and they both shot well. The 5R is going to be a bit heavier.

I like the 5r and the sendero. I owned a sendero for a while. I wouldn't mind owning either one or both of them.

You've got a pretty good budget..If u like the sendero buy it.If your wanting a long range rifle you don't have to have a big Ole heavy stock and bull barrel to get the job done..The gun shooters spoke of is a good one.I've never had a problem with my sakos reaching out and touching something.I got a hell of deal from a fellow a few months back.I bought a sako 75 7mmstw for $750!! The gun is in excellent condition came with 7 full boxes of ammo also..But like I said if that's what u want go for it

Well the more I run it through this noggin of mine. It seems that to get the best results I need to reload. The 6.5 Creedmore, the 6.5-.284 are difficult to find factory ammo. I don't reload and finding the components to reload in the current environment is difficult. I will do something just got to work it out.

Own a Sendero in 300WM and it's twin, a VSSF, in .223. They are both 1/2"-3/4" guns with factory ammo.

I have a 25-06 that looks like that. It has a jewell trigger and always shoots under 1/2 moa
