What do you think is the #1 limiting factor thats keeping the property you hunt from being better? Answers here could vary from things like neighbors shooting too many deer, not enough bedding, too much hunting pressure, too many does being shot, too many young bucks being shot, predators, not enough food etc, etc..whatever you think is the biggest factor thats holding your property back. If feel that your property is not being held below a level that meets your satisfaction or is not limited in any significant way.. then just say you have no significant factors holding your property back from meeting your desired goals.....oe something of that nature. smile

Pressure, not just hunting pressure, but every member that wants to hang cameras, look for tracks, hang stands and just ride. Then before gun season comes in you have a couple of months of the bow hunters out there. If I had the land and controlled a club there would be no bow hunting and the gates would be locked till planting season, but that is just my personal opinion.

That my neighbors land isn't part of my land, and then those neighbors aren't apart of my land, and so forth.

The only thing holding our property back is the geographical location of our property.

Well other than my 900 acres being moved to Iowa, neighbors pressure, and differing managnemt strategies.

My population is much lower than say 10 years ago, so I end up hunting "harder" (closer to bedding areas) to keep my sightings consistent. And in doing so I put more pressure on my place and cause them to be more and more nocturnal. I also have some neighbors that have no trigger control, and a few others that hunt with me that pay no attention to wind direction when picking stands.

But mostly I would say I am the leading cause of pressuring my deer to much. A lot of my place has been clearcut so nearly all of my hunting areas and access routes will change. I am trying to make a calculated effort on where I put food plots, roads and stands so I can have less impact. Plus I'm gonna try hard to check cameras only once every 3-4 weeks.

Over-harvest of does on some neighboring properties and reduced reproductive rates due to coyote predation.

BUT, due to some of our management strategies AND a great location, it is still pretty dang good!

I was referring to inside Alabama. Where I hunt, 1 mile could make a world of difference.

I'd like to have a little more open land for plots, other than that , happy, happy, happy.

Farming practices. I wish they would farm corn, soybeans, and peanuts instead of pines.

On my mountain property, its pressure, not that i'm putting too much on it, but one neighbor camps a lot near the line, and runs a dadgum generator from about dark to daylight. Other properties are never hunted, so my property is the best as far as food and cover goes, but, even a little pressur on mine and none on the other makes a big difference. On my club, its either so thick you can't see 10', or wide open.

Year round pressure from redneck trash in the area keeps the deer scared to death. Coyotes also have had a detrimental impact.

Unless you have control of large acreage, I firmly believe number of rifle trigger pulls is #1 by far. Deer (young bucks) travel - other people shoot, a lot.

Too much pressure and too little trigger restraint....lack of food this past season but that's not the norm...
