The wife and I will be in Bham all afternoon and we want to visit some stores who stock suppressors. I know HTF does, but what other stores can I visit in the area today? Thanks for the help!

Now that they will (should) be legal, you must have decided to become a dirty moonlight poacher!

Several dealers have joined the Class 3 game in the last few years. Unfortunately there's not an updated list available online.

Now that they will (should) be legal, you must have decided to become a dirty moonlight poacher! Yep. Just like corn. All my neighbors will be doing it so I've got to keep up.

I don't understand the infatuation with suppressors for deer hunting. Looks like everyone thinks their .300 mag is going to be quiet and not spook deer. There is nothing out there that is "Hollywood quiet". Even a suppressed hunting rifle is still very loud.

Who said I wanted it for deer hunting? I don't plan on deer hunting with 22's or 5.56. They're legal. They're cool. I'm willing to pay for some before we can't buy them anymore.

That's cool. I just assumed you were going to deer hunt with it.

I plan on getting one for a 22 and one that is interchangeable between 5.56 and .308. I don't plan on hunting with it but I like the idea of being able to if I want.

They build VERY good products. They also have a shoot once a month on a Saturday and you can go over there and try 'em for yourself. Details are on their website.

The owners Bro/BIL works in the Tool & Die shop where I do. He also moonlights at their shop. Maybe I can get a discount on a can.

Friends of mine got some about 8 years ago. A guy in Pelham or Helena area makes them. I think they had to wait a few months on the approval. They had one suppresser. and had the barrels threaded on 22s and 300s. Don't know the name though.

Larry's in Huntsvillie is running one of his regular sale ads in the paper and it also says he has HUNDREDS of suppressors in stock. It doesn't say what brands he's stocking.

Walter Craig's in Montgomery has a sale on, several different brands in stock and decent prices. Might be worth calling them.

There is nothing out there that is "Hollywood quiet". Even a suppressed hunting rifle is still very loud. I'll take shooting a full velocity, suppressed 308 over shooting a full velocity 308 any day. Is is silent? No. Is it generally better? Hell yes.
