spy, who thinks AU will beat UA by 21 pts this fall? I'd love to see it but it ain't gonna happen!
Regarding talent and tradition and coaches and players... IMO... Teams have personalities and much of it is dictated by the leaders and/or seniors on the team and of course, coaches, but really... a few leaders on the team. You can have all the talent in the world but without the team jelling together as one... and I am talking about emotionally, they won't reach their potential. It doesn't mean you have to all like each other but you have to all respect each other's effort, dedication and desire to win for "the team" and not as an individual.
It's hard to stop a team that is close emotionally and willing to give everything they have every play for the team. Jealousy and resentfulness is hard to extinguish if exists.
So, with that said, I'm curious as to how Auburn jells together as a team. A less talented closely-knited team will beat a highly talented team who is fighting amongst themselves.
Not saying that happened to Bama last year against MSU, AU and OK but listening to a Bama player on Jox the other day, he said they lost their edge toward the end of the season. AJM said something not long ago that would lead one to believe that the team didn't jell and that some of the young guys (4 & 5*) thought that they didn't have to work hard. Idunno... Mental is as important as physical. IMO
