Couldn't see the photo. Are they leeches or freshwater lampreys?

I had the same thing on a big crappie last week. About 6" long and pencil diameter. I'm quite certain it was a lamprey.

Spring lampreys, smaller this year than in the past, but about 20x more than usual for some reason.

The 10- and 12-inch Texas-rigged worm is great for pitching or swimming, but I'm not sure if it mimics the lamprey or slender freshwater eels. I'd bet the bass may eat a lamprey but don't know
