I shoot the 3 1/2 out of my 870 SM because it patterns better than the 3 inch. I don't see a problem with recoil now. Yeah the patterning process was painful but it's over now and I have never noticed recoil when I shoot a gobbler. Besides it's not like the 3 inch magnum turkey loads are a joy to shoot either.

And I do not own a 300 win mag. My two primary deer rifles are a 25-06 and a 7mm-08. LOL!
