I just wanted to share this. I had been back slidden for a while. God wanted more out of me and I selfishly didn't listen. I began drifting away from God, got out of church and lost touch with Him. A little while back I started getting back into church and letting Him take control. I can tell you that I don't miss doing my own thing even a little bit. I have more joy and fulfillment than I can ever remember.
If you feel the Holy Spirit calling you, let him in. You will not regret it.

Hey Big Dalk that is great to hear. Stay the path man...and "never" give up. Let me share this with you if you don't mind, in hopes it may encourage you. I wake up everyday happy, happy, happy, literally ... and never look back at all the bad stuff, and miserable mean person I was. I drank hard, slept around with many women, made good money, run with rough crowd and I will leave it at that, and there was always a big void. Nothing to be proud of or any type of true legacy to leave behind. Most of my friends I ran with are dead today that never quit. The owner of my company had me sit me down years ago with him, and I'm still with him today (27 yrs), and wanted to know what type vitamins I take, and how is it were so successful in what we do. I told him Jesus leads my life and not his "money", and the big decisions I make on behalf of his company are always in prayer prior with guidance from the Lord. The look on his face was priceless back then. He and I are dear friends to this day, and he is also a different man today too. For when the Lord calls you home and he will one day....you will not fear but embrace him as he will you. Stay "Strong" and never give up or quit. Be that man for your wife, and kids and break those chains or generational chains that may be holding you back, and stand strong for the Lord. As you know, his rewards are far greater than mans...like jobs, money...and so on. Stay strong bro !

We, as sinners, have an instinct to do things our way. Having goals, personal plans, etc. is a very good thing....just let the Lord guide you to them if it is in his will. Stay strong brother. We all have been where you are and most all will likely be there again. You will be the encouraging word next time.

Awesome man! God doesn't want to keep us back and be miserable about every thing a Christian isn't "supposed to do". It's quite the opposite. He wants us to be truly free and happy! I know how you feel well done!

God is full of mercy and will never push us away. Jesus said, come unto me all he that are heavy laden. Sometimes our heavy load is of our own doing, but he wants to bear our burden because of His love for us. I love this thread.
