Got the day off and am checking out a big field surrounded by tall pines above some creeks across the 'Hootch in GA this morning. Hopefully it pans out, best of luck to anyone out this morning.

About an hour ago I had one on the of the bottom I was at, gobbled wice real close so I just sat where I was. Waited for about an hour an threw out some soft yelps and purrs, heard him again later but it was in the distance. Now the wind is blowing like crazy on the ridge I'm on, headed back down to the bottom and see if I can't find some more. Frustrating!

Had one hammering this morning in lee county. First bird of the year I've really heard gobble. He got henned up right off the roost and they took him away from us. It was nice to finally hear one act right!

finally struck a bird at 645 this morning. He was gobbling and strutting 250 yards across the property line standing in the middle of a gas line. Couldn't get him in before having to leave.
Have to chase him another day.
