I will be looking for a used 4x4 ATV next month and trying to keep it in the $3-4k range. I was wondering what ATV's folks like or which ones to stay away from. Opinions please?

If you're going to spend $4k, go ahead and go up to southern Honda in Chattanooga. For a little more you can have a new rancher 4x4. You'll never wear it out.
I VERY good atv mechanic told me that all of the major brands are good bikes now except Arctic Cat. He said he wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole. He's been working on them for 20+ years now and that all he does.

Yep, get you a Honda it will last you and your kids lifetime if taken care of. Theres a reason there are still 20YO hondas running around.

You see a lot more old Honda ATV's than any other brand. They are like the Energizer bunny.

I have owned every brand except polaris. They were all great atvs when taken care of.I have a suzuki eiger right now with 4200 miles on it and it runs like a champ.Just treat it like you WANT to own it for a long time and they're all good.BY the way Hondas are awesome.

I always liked my Suzuki and Kawi's. Honda is a good one too. Unless Polaris changed their braking set ups, I'd avoid them if you're riding a lot of steep terrain. Everyone that I knew with one in Alaska were not pleased.

Any one that starts with H and ends with A should be fine.

If you're going to spend $4k, go ahead and go up to southern Honda in Chattanooga. For a little more you can have a new rancher 4x4. You'll never wear it out. Ditto. Lake Hill Motors in Corinth, MS will be close in price, but Southern Powersports in C'nooga is the new price leader. Usually the best time to buy is early Fall as that typically when Honda offers their bonus bucks on ATVs.
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

Take it for what it's worth, but I'll tell you what a salesman told me. Went to Corinth to buy a 4 wheeler and was torn between the Honda and the Yamaha. He told me that Honda was riding on their name and Yamaha had surpassed them as far as quality machines. This was a few years ago and things might have changed since then. I left with the Yamaha.
