Nice bird indeedMr Yercut. What exactly is beard rot? I've heard about it but I honestly haven't seen it before. What causes it? Beard rot is a lack of melanin in the beard that turns basically a strip across it orange... That strip is weaker than the normal black portion of the beard and is brittle which means it will break off easier. I've killed a couple gobblers with beard rot, as long as they don't get some kind of spur disease that makes them short I will be happy with short beards everynow and then.
