Well, I didn't have the turkey gods bad ju-ju after all. My good deed from yesterday paid off this morning. A nice 3 year old with a thick beard. I will post more pics and the story a little later. Man, its great to be alive!!!  I decided to go back to where I fooled with the two gobblers yesterday and see if they wanted a little action this morning. This time though, I got to the log landing way before daylight and settled in. It was dead silence again this morning. I wait until I think they should be on the ground and I give them some sharp clucks and some soft talk from the Buice trumpet. I do this every 15-20 mins until about 8:30. I had just let out a series of yelps from the trumpet when I saw him pop out in the log landing. He starts strutting right towards me but gets behind some bushes where I can't shoot him. He gets to 25 yards and stops. He's looking for the hen that's supposed to be there. He starts to ease back the way he came but he came out from behind the bushes and the TSS pain train ran over him at 41 steps. Here is where I was sitting yesterday. They were in the log landing at the end of the road.  And here is where I was sitting this morning:  And here he is with the Buice trumpet. He ended up having 2 beards.
