Spool gun quit working? I have not done so, but I have been told that you can buy a certain alloy wire that will push up a 10 foot standard lead. FWIW. I sort of like our 25' push pull rigs. laugh but a small spool of that stiff wire might do to fix yahoos boat with. Argon for shielding gas, but you prolly already knew that.
