In my jon boat. It's too big for a rivit so how would you do it? It's aluminum.

Mine had just small pin holes in a 4x4 area. I welded a piece of aluminum plate over it. Still got an all welded boat that don't leak a drop
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....

Get locktite "marine" from lowes. It's eventually the same thing as marine tex.

I had the same thing happen on a 12 ft. jon. I used a gob of roofing tar. The older it got, the harder it became. Its just used on a farm pond.

Get a patch welded over it. If that's not an option, silicone a patch over it. If you can find a piece of aluminum to silicone over it.

They make an aluminum stick like a brazing rod that you can fix it with. All you need is a propane torch.

I found a piece of sheet metal, put some quality silicone AND some old scrap rubber molding I had between the square of sheet metal and the boat, then put 4 bolts (one at each corner) through the sheet and the boat, then sandwiched it down tight as can be. It's just an old "back of your truck" kind of jon boat, and frankly you can't even notice that place unless you're right up close.
We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

Go get a plate welded over it. dont be cheap about it cause on the water is no place to find out your short cut failed.

I would weld it and know it was done right, you can probably take it to a shop locally and have it done for under 100.00 if you dont have a welding machine
