My best friend went thru this a couple years ago and it was the lowest I've seen him in the almost 30 years that I've known him. They were married for 16 years as well and she just told him one day she didn't love him and wanted a divorce. He went through some tough times and gave it all up to The Lord one night and woke up the next morning a different man, he said all that weight was lifted from him. He focused all his energy on the kids and now a couple years removed and he's happier than he's ever been and happier than I've seen him in many years. Prayers sent up for you.
Finally deported myself from the peoples republik of Kaliforkistan.

I went through this in 2008. You cannot blame yourself!!! I did this for months, nothing good come of it. Focus on God, your children & find a friend to listen without judgement. Talking about anything other than her will be the best therapy you can do. I know it dont feel like it but there is a good woman out there that will apreciate a good man. It took me two years to find her but I have a wonderful god fearing woman that loves and apreciates me.

I went through this a long time ago with 2 small children, pretty much the same sceniro. Hang in there, time heals all wounds. In the long run it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Didn't think so at the time but it was. Things happen for a reason most of the time.

My parents divorced when I was 10yo in 1986. It was not good, My mom was and still is bitter and often talked badly of my father and still does at every opportunity. I never heard my father say a negative word about her. In saying that, Dad was around but not involved. We never had or developed the relationship a young son needs from his father, not to say he was a deadbeat, but I have very few memories of happy times with Dad. That is not to say he did not try, divorce changes the family dynamic and can be very difficult for children. My Dad and my relationship is one that I am determined to not repeat with my own son. BE THERE FOR YOUR CHILDREN! No matter what they ask, make your best effort to be there, Things will never replace you just simply being there!! That will always be remembered and NEVER forgotten! You and your wife may not have a future together, but your future with your children is up to you and they will need you until the day you die. Let her be the example of everything that is wrong. Be their shining example of what a dad is and should do and you will never be forgotten or an after thought. Remember the best revenge is to live a good life, full of love, laughter and seek happiness in your children and they will pay you back until your last day on this earth. You will find a lady deserving of your love, but your kids will always be deserving and needing the love that only a father can provide!
Prayers for healing in your family and may god use this negativity to bring you closer to your children and faith in the lord.

I have been through 2 divorces. I am on my third marriage. I have been married to my present wife longer than the other two put together. Always remember you don't want someone that does not want you. I know it is hard to deal with right now, but I promise you it will get better. Things really do happen for a reason. I will be praying for you.
