This is my 1,000th Aldeer post, so I guess this is a milestone post. I joined Aldeer on May 29, 2008 as I was looking for a new place to hunt being we had lost our hunting lease of 10 years when the 3 sisters that owned the property had a disagreement with each other and it left us holding the bag.
I was searching the internet and found Aldeer. I looked at the Lands and Leases forum and signed up to make posts that I was looking for a new place. Little did I know that I would become hooked on Aldeer. I have made many good friends, sold items, bought items, and not to mention found great places to hunt due to signing up and making that first post.
I posted that me and my buddy were looking for a place to hunt and a guy that went by Wizzard contacted me. "Wizzard" is a real good friend of mine now. The life long kind of friend. I joined Redfield Hunting Club in the summer of 2008 and hunted there 5 years. I left there in the summer last year because I wanted to hunt a small place of my own. Thanks to Farmer Brown on here I found a small lease in Chambers county and picked it up with 3 other guys.
Due to changes in my job, I cant be that far from home a lot as I am on call more now. Also, I was missing hunting with all the guys at Redfield and my kids enjoyed it there more than Chambers too. So Its funny that this milestone post is full circle right back to joining Redfield Hunting Club like the reason I joined Aldeer to start with.
I have not met a bad Aldeer Member yet. I read the forums almost everyday. I have found useful info, humor, and been enlightened since 2008.
