Short answer: Don't.

Buy used. Let some other sucker pay that new boat depreciation!

I should not have an opinion. i am not a boat/water person and have never owned one.

I agree with that statement for individuals that don't believe in routine maintenance.

BC,
If I could find what I want used I would buy it.

I've got the g3 1860 cc dlx . It's a sweet boat and I can fish in 8" of water in it . Got a 90 hp Yamaha 4 stroke on it. I fish a lot and I can fish almost everyday for 2 weeks without visiting a gas station. Tops out right at 40 mph. Good in rough water too. Mine has the vinyl flooring which is a huge plus for me cause I can wash all the blood out with a hose but it doesn't get slippery. I probably won't ever sell that boat.

I would never put an opti-bomb on anything. Yamaha four strokes are the way to go. If you want me to I can find out when my grandfather bought his Yamaha he had. It's still running. It was the first Yamaha four stroke I ever saw and he retired on that motor 3 years ago. He was a fishing guide in the keys and fished 250 days a year. I would say he ran that motor for 10 years or better.
