Really, Pelham range has had arty shells raining down on it for years. If the concusion from a 155 cracks your sheet rock, then you have some damn shitty sheet rock. Before you ask, I've been one of those "Dumb MotherF--kers out there shooting off 155's in the past.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

40+ miles here and we hear it. I use to work at the incinerator....and it would make you soil your coveralls if you didn't get the memo. I think its ridiculous. Shoot them in the desert.

They call it the King of Battle for a reason. Imagine being on the receiving end of that!

My dad used to say that every time a jet would come over our house and the sonic boom would rattle the windows.

Summer of 1970, fire base at Dautieng, I had been out for about 10 days doing mine sweeps with a mechanized unit, rotated back in, first chance for a shower in 10 days, threw my stinking clothes and battle rattle in a pile for the hooch maid to clean up, strolled to the shower wearing nothing but flip flops and a towel, got almost there when I thought God reached down and slapped me to the ground. And again. Three times. They had moved a 155 battery in while I was gone. My flip flops were blown out, my knees skinned up, and I was lying face down naked in the mud holding my ears with a dozen GIs and Vietnamese laughing at me. Took a while to live that one down.

Riley back in the day on the calling in end and on the firing end. Hope I am NEVER on the receiving end! I hate y'all have to deal with that when you are trying to sleep. Makes the Apaches at Ft Rucker seem tame. They lull me to sleep some nights! They ought to be able to do most of their firing during the day or early in the night. Call the Army and see if their schedules are firm. Get your neighbors to do the same. We rent them property to use as landing strips for helicopters and they work with us real good.

There was quite a bit of rumbling around here now that you mention it. I never pay much attention to it because we hear so much from the arsenal, but it seemed to get on my lab's nerves a little more today.
