This is Curtis, he lives right across the street from the entrance to our land. His family keeps an eye on our land and in turn, we let him hunt as a guest on one of our tracks. This one was with a doe, making a scrape. First shot was a miss, a symptom of "BUCK FEVA." Luckily he stood still for the kill shot. One side was broke off. His bottom lip was ripped and a huge cut on his back from fighting. Take a look at his front leg, looks like it was broke at one time and healed this way.

Congrats to the young guy! That deer has really been through it. I hate it for him that the buck had lost one side of his antler, but I imagine a wound on his face like that would have potentially caused an infection that might have killed him anyway.
