Piled up in my warm bed watching smack down with my kids, they are telling me who every wrestler is and what there moves are. Me and my oldest are going on the evening hunt when it warms up a little. Good luck.

Finally, a doe...

Had to move so now I am here. Happy days I walked up on a big doe and we stared at each other for a full min. Then she just wandered off. Hoping for the buck now. had 2 more does walk out not 5 mins after I got in the stand. Sweet.

Back at the house by 9:00! It was freezing, but my 11 yr old and I decided to try sitting on the ground this morning by a fallen tree. 6:30, here comes a doe and a young 8 pt. 25 yards away, and he stood frozen for 10 minutes straight! Kept looking behind him, and he finally spooked and they ran right by us. Thought big boy was coming in behind him. No such luck. 20 minutes later, here comes a doe walking pretty much same trail. She damn near ran us over! Got 5 yds away and "saw" us, or something, and ran back about 10yds...we had a short staring contest for a few minutes, then she mozied along her way. Saw two more does 15 minutes later. By that time it was 8:30 and our toes were frozen. Wish he could have gotten a shot at the 8 pt...would've been his first deer.

Gotta say, it was pretty cool being on the ground and seeing them up close from that perspective. First time I've ever hunted that way.

Had buck chasing in thicket ever saw it later on from opposite side 2 spikes and a half rack 8. 35 ft up this pine feels like I'm on a fair ride lol

Just had a doe come through being trailed by a spike. Seems like I never catch the right one following.

She hasn't killed a deer this season so she is a little more mad at them than I am

Except I'm in a shooting house with a propane heater on blast! But I'm still cold.

All I've seen is a 6 point about 15 min after daylight. Hope they getting ready to get up and eat here in the "warm" part of the day.

Trying again in Dayton. Found a buck our neighbor shot last Sat. Said he shot at big buck but thought he missed. Has only 8 acre plot that part faces us. His big buck turned out to be a 2 1/2 small 8 point. Easy for us to find. He didn't even ask to come look. Pisses me off.

My brother sent me a message this morning at 0738 and said I am out of bullets! I said what! Last night he told me he saw a group of something. He knew they were not deer but figured hogs. He went back in this morning sitting on the ground cause he likes to move around with the wind. He was leaned against a big oak this morning and hit his grunt call. As soon as he hit it he heard something over his shoulder knowing it was a big buck. He turned around and it was 15-20 coyotes. He said he watched them work strategically. Said when they got within 50 yards they spread apart and got in four or five packs to attack the deer. Needless to say there plan didn't go as planned. He said the last group passed him, it was Tikka 7 mmag time. He said his first shot was a chip shot about 50 yards slight pouncing they do. And after that all hell broke loose. He shot the remaining shells in the msg and got another one drt. Said he shot at another but it never acted hit. He said the bolt was like an automatic. He was dragging them to the river and when he got to the river he spooked another part of the pack that ran but he had done loaded back up. He said he got another. said it was cutting circles trying to bite the bullet but when I talked to him he hadn't laid his hand on it yet. Went with eight shells and cane back with none. Said he got five more to hunt this evening and tomorrow. He said. I hope they don't come out again cause that was fun. He hates coyotes as much as anyone and said it was a wired feeling watching that many come by him while on the ground.

Just got settled in on a greenfield in Bullock County. One last shot for my son to get one

Saw a decent buck trailing a doe walking in and now I have a spike bedded about 40 yards from me.
This poplar tree is rocking pretty good.

Sitting on a dirt greenfield this afternoon. Got my bow in hand hoping one is starving this afternoon. Got 2 friends in the woods with me this weekend hopefully we will have some luck!

Somebody beat me to the field I wanted to hunt with the little man so I settled on one I'm not thrilled about. I just hope my spike whispering keeps up cause he has the green light today.

I just drove up from FL to my spot in Barbour county. When I got to my favorite tripod, which is located on the property line and where i shoot deer before they cross onto my neighbors, because they shoot anything and everything i found where somebody had dumped a bucket of poop.

Why would somebody do that? What kind if sicko rides around in the woods with a bucket full of poop?
