Dan, during that two-week period were there restrictions on the size of bucks or was it a brown, down scenario and just about everything was killed?

In West Va, back then in the <70-80's, most still had the mentality of a "mans" deer had to be a buck (but there wasn't a doe season for gun, only bow). And since the gun season was 2 weeks long AND the bag limit back then was one buck, it equaled "brown it's down". Minimum antler restriction was 1" (maybe 3"?)above the hairline. Since then, I think you can shoot 2 bucks and doe seasons and bag limits have become available and more liberal.
