I was hunting my honey hole this morning where I have killed 4 bucks the past three years. About 8:15 I hear a twig snap on the hardwood hillside across from me. I look over and can see a deer behind a lot of thick stuff. I put the scope up and can see a main beam. By this time the buck took a step and I lost him. About 15 minutes went by with me grunting and can bleating and nothing. I thought he had slipped by me. Then all of a sudden I catch movement in a briar patch about 40 yards to the right of where I saw him. I thought there he is!! I threw up the scope to see a small doe wondering through the briars. Ah ha, that's why he wouldn't come to my calling!! I knew that it was only a matter of time before he showed up behind her. Well, she turned and came down the hill to about 80 yards from me and still no buck!! WTH!! Then I looked back to the top of the hill in the briars and there he is!! I put the scope up and could see nothing but horns!! He starts walking and hits an opening and I bleat to stop him. As my luck would have it, he stopped and a limb about 4" in diameter was blocking his vitals. I ease down to see if I can squeeze a shot under this and my numb finger hits the trigger. BOOM!! I hit the ground at the buck's feet!! I am sitting in my standing about ready to jump. In the meantime, the doe is still standing at 80 yards wondering WTH!! I look back up the hill and the buck is coming back!! I throw the 7Mag back up on him and he stops in an opening giving me a clear quartering to me shot at 120 yards. BOOM!! He turns and takes off!! I felt good about the shot, but was not sure. I get down and walk to the stump beside where he is standing. I find a puddle of pink, foaming blood!! Oh yeah, busted lungs!! I followed blood for about 30 yards anf found him piled up by a pine tree. He has 6 points, a 14 1/4" inside spread, 6 1/4" bases, 23" main beams, 5" brow tines, and 8" G2s. He weighed in at 155 pounds. Damn proud to bring this dude home.  Another twist to this story Yesterday morning going in to this place, I noticed that one of the scrapes that I was sitting over had been hit again since last weekend. On my way out at 10:30 yesterday morning, I put a camera on this scrape. When I went in before daylight, I noticed that a buck had hit the scrape last night. When I came out today I pulled the camera to see what had hit the scrape. This is what I found!! I sure am glad that I left my climber in this spot!!

Congrats! It would be interesting to see what he aged at because those are mature deer measurements on the rack but kind of light for a mature deer. He is a Super Stud 6 point though!
