I hunted my arse off missed several bucks and had a bunch get away before killing my first. He was a 120" gross 9 and I promise you it didn't dampen the fire in me for hunting just made it worse. Now you take a kid put him in a shooting house the first day 10 min in he kills a giant I've seen it fire them up and some think it's too easy and never go again. If I take my son hunting on a high end managed property and a good deer that doesn't meet there standards walks out I will gladly give him the go and smile paying the fine. The more a kid has to just watch and not blast the less his drive will be. I've seen it happen too many times.
