I never knew they even had turkey out there. Must be a very small flock.

I land surveyed out there back in the spring of 99 or 2000 and we heard several. Saw some sign also. I'm not saying they are there now, but there was enough there then that it had me wanting my shotgun several mornings. Also, you gotta watch what you see in this forum! These guys are great, but as far as they know, there's 0 turkeys in the state of Alabama, and Tennessee for that matter!
This is Aldeer! The place people come to vent their frustrations and completely change their stance a few minutes later...

Redstone is loaddddded! Back years ago when I got the NWTF Chapter in Limestone Co up and going Brian Zylinsky our area NWTF biologist and the biologist for Redstone were trying to co ordinate a trapping and relocation project from Redstone to areas of Limestone Co. They were swamped with birds at the time. Ron Ekes with Alabama Game and Fish smashed the project because he said if areas of alabama did not already have birds then they would not live due to unsuitable habitat. What a crock. Glad his do nothing a$$ has retired and moved on.

Hunted there last yeah scouting saw five Jakes. Returned next day with my wife and had 3 mature gobblers come in but area was a little to thick couldn't see decoys. Great morning though. If I would have had more time I'm pretty sure I could've got me this was post deployment leave and I didn't get to return.

Redstone Arseanal SUX for turkey hunting. Least vocal birds I've ever fooled with in my life....and not all that many of them.
