What shells you gonna shoot?

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

colonial arms chokes, an alabama company. Mac Macdonald is the owner. Unbelieveably good full chokes for turkey! Ive used them for 15 years now.

LOL, yea I figured that much thats why I got a place in Linden to do all my turkey hunting on my way to work, and nobody gets their panties in a wad.

My very limited experience, with a 500 and an 870. Diff chokes for both. Would have to look what I have for the 500. My approach was a little different.

My son's 870 patterns better with a 2 3/4" particular turkey load. My 500 wouldn't pattern any 2 3/4" loads, and favored a 3". We used 3-4 diff loads/shells to see what the gun/choke combo liked.

My Mossberg 500 (28" barrel) likes a .670 choke - something like a Mossberg factory .670 or a Carlsons will do.

If you're going to buy factory shells, get you some Hevi-13 3" 2 oz #6s.

If you want the best performance, you'll have to handload your own TSS. With that, I like a .690 sporting clays choke.

I have an Indian Creek .560 in mine, and I've tried over a dozen shells with it...the 2 top performers have been the hevi 13 magnum blend and Winchester supreme #5's...the winchesters seem to hold a little better pattern in mine...

I once flirted with danger...but then danger got clingy.

What kind of numbers are you getting out of that choke? I'm gonna be shooting TSS but need a backup plan if I run out, or I may use store boughts to back up TSS.
