So with these extremely low temps on Monday and Tuesday, who all is going to be out there?
It should really force the deer to move. I know I'll be in the woods! Hopefully on a stretch of powerline.
Maybe it'll also jump start the rut.
Turkeys be damned.

I'll be out looking for one

I'll crawl up in my shooting house with my little buddy heater lit. That type weather is what I built it for.

As James Spann says if you are under 40 you have never seen or felt an air mass like this in your lifetime. These deer have never felt something like this, even the oldest of the old out there. By the time the sun comes up on Tuesday morning they will be begging for the sun, just like we will be in our shooting houses and trees. Some deer are gonna get tore up these next two days if yall can stand it.

The few times we've had these very hard freezes I saw most movement at mid-day.

I'm gonna say you guys that plan to brave these temps just before daylight until the sun pops out are going to be in for little to no movement and a miserable few hours. It's been my experience hunting all over the Midwest and cold weather in Bama that deer do not move good until the frost starts to melt or the sun is shining bright. If I were to hunt, I would get in around 7 to 7:30 and sit until mid day.

Heck the deer I hunt don't move much when it gets below 20 much less 10 degrees! Good luck to all that go and be careful

Ain't no way I'm hunting anything in 5 degree weather.

Sub 20s with a 15-20 mph n wind is what we are forecasted as having tomorrow. I have had a crappy year so far in terms of seeing deer. Tomorrows weather doesn't bode well for improving my season.

Squeaky is giving some good advice and anybody that keeps up with his track record should know to listen closely when he gives advice.

As deeply frozen as everything will be, a man walking through the woods will sound like tank rolling through a china shop.

It may thaw and you boys in LA see some midday movement, but up here in Hillbilly land single digits shuts them down. There's not gonna be frost burning off at 9 AM up here. It's raining here now, food will freeze, only supposed to be16 for a high tomorrow with the wind howling, 4 for low Tuesday am. But whoa Nelly when it thaws out!

Ive only seen it this cold, twice in my life.
Both times, the deer moved like crazy. The last time, for two days I sat a powerline all day. I saw 30+ deer both days.

Even down south, I think Wed will be the day. I think they will respond well to that high in the 50's. ...but take this advice with a grain of salt since I can't get off work till Wed.

Highs in upper 20's, very low 30's. Lows in the low teens Mon night, upper teens Tue. Still a shock to the deer in this area.
