I need some support. Gonna be hard sitting in a tree and not having a dip in my mouth.

I can post some pics if you need motivation.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.

Hey Ttown, 1-1-14 marks 8 yrs for me. It is hard but you can do it. The best advise I could give is this: YOU must get the space between YOUR right ear and YOUR left ear straight. Once your mind is made up, brother you can do anything. I was dipping close to two cans on wolf a day. At the time, I was spending about 1.50/can. The day I quit, I put three dollars in a jar and did so everyday for a year. On my 1 year anniv. I went and bought me a nice gun.

13 years today for me. You can do it if you want to do it!
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

I'm in the same boat. I generally don't believe in New Year resolutions. I always thought if you needed to do something, do it. Don't wait until a holiday. Going to try to make an exception this year. Feel for you.

Closing in on one year for me. I had already made up my mind to quit(which must happen), the tongue biopsy I had shortly after just helped seal the deal!!

I quit last feb and for the first 6 months I thought about it constantly. Millions of people survive everyday without dip you can as well.

I quit over three years ago. I tried to quit a hundred times before I actually made my mind up to. There was a non tobacco dip made of ground cayenne peppers that I used to help me quit. It had that burn to it like Copenhagen does. I actually used that along with a piece of nicotine gum at the same time to ween me off the real thing. I think the non tobacco dip was called spitfire. Maybe you can google it and find it. Good luck.

nothin that makes you feel like a bigger loser than when you make a mile long walk in to your perfect spot with a perfect wind and have to walk back out because you left your can in the truck. I've done it and its almost embarassing admitting it. Should be motivation enough to quit but I still havent. Good luck on quiting. Stay with it and give the rest of us some motivation.
the hardest part to me is driving in the morning. I have a couple cups of coffee before leaving the house and put the first one in as I'm hitting the interstate. I dont feel alive until I put that first one in. If I could get around that morning drive I could likley kick it.

Hope you can quit. I quit once for two years and for some reason got a dip from a friend one afternoon and got right back at it. I doubt I ever quit I enjoy it too much.
We will burn that bridge when we get there

I've quit several times cold turkey with no problem. Once for a year. I just always start back. I don't feel like I physically need it. I think I mentally need it. I enjoy it too much. I go through phases where I don't dip for days, won't even cross my mind and then, BAM ! I want a dip. .. Crazy.

A year ago today was the last time I dipped on a daily basis. I haven't bought a can since and have probably only dipped 5 times since then. It wasn't as hard as I expected but I did think about it a lot. I'll get one fishing or hunting or something when I'm with a buddy who has some but I have no problem just getting 1. I have no desire to go back to the can a day routine now
