not a friend of mine but i was on the tombigbee river having a few beers on the sandbar this summer when the subject of alligators comes up. a guy that was in the conversation said he shot one over 15ft not 100 yds from where we were standing. said it followed a buzz bait right up to the boat and he shot it between the eyes with his .357 then proceeds to tell me that he shot over 500 hundred gators last year alone. asked him if he had a pic of the big one, said he did but didnt really want to show anyone because he could get in trouble!!
