Haven't seen any rut activity in lee or Macon county. Saw 4 bucks together Monday afternoon. 8pt,6pt, 2 spikes. Deer sightings overall seem to be increasing though

Lee County: Have no idea what a deer looks like but have seen 4 coyotes but have been unable to got on one of them.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

I found the first scrape of this season last Thursday. Still was being worked yesterday. Haven't seen any others though. Last year it was the week before Christmas before I saw the first one so I am hoping they are getting started a little earlier this year.
If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.

Watched a 3yo 8pt work two scrapes on Sunday morning in Loachapoka. No other scrapes seen other than that little area.

I saw three young bucks (4pt, 6pt, and spike) together in Notasulga last weekend. The pre-rut there has typically been late December with the rut in full-swing by the 2nd week of January, in my experience anyways.

Saw several scrapes today and four small bucks, all with dark tarsals.

Lee County: Went yesterday saw nothing. Saw 3 deer this entire season and they were opening day of bow season. Can't figure it.

We went out yesterday morning. Didn't see anything but when we got back to the trucks there was a fresh set of buck tracks that walked 10 yds in front on my truck!
Also, I found our first scrape of the season. After an hour getting sea sick in a tree due to the wind, I got down and scouted/ stalked. During one of the stops, I got such a strong whiff of musk that I turned around expecting to see a buck! There was a FRESH scrape with both a doe and a buck track in it. Yup, I set a camera over that one and can't wait to see who's trip-trapping on my bridge!

I know of a 205lb 7 pt killed in Goldville today. Neck was swollen and hocks were stinking. Killed on a plot feeding by himself.
